Ginger Claret is one of the seven main characters of the series, though is only properly introduced in Purrgatory Furever. She remains a main part of the cast in Patches' Infurno, and makes a brief first appearance in Love at Furst Bite. She's introduced as a dead bloodhound in the bathroom stall of Hachiko High School when the apawcalypse occurs.
Appurrance[]
Ginger appears as a brown dog with dark brown hair that's long and straight in texture, and often covers one eye. Her ears and tail are long and droopy and her eyes are a dull red.
Purrsonality[]
At the start of the series, Ginger is a quiet, shy and unconfident dog. She feels freakish due to her magical abilities and yearns to lean on others since she cannot rely on herself. This makes her the perfect target for Patches' manipulation, which she hopelessly falls for. She's encouraged to commit several atrocities and is paid in Patches' supposed love and affection. It's only after being offered companionship from Olive and their friends, does Ginger finally stand up for herself against Patches. Afterwards she commits to being a good friend by helping Coco and the others with Hachiko High's communal school day. There, Patches' has a difficult time manipulating her once more.

Ginger appears in PA1 as a bifurcated corpse in a bathroom stall, but was unnamed at the time of this game's release. It's likely she was murdered by a cat demon before Brownie found a hiding space in the stall next door (hence, which she was killed but Brownie was not).
Purrfect Apawcalypse: Purrgatory Furever[]
Ginger and the spirits of all the other dead dogs (including Patches) were banished to Infurno. After meeting Patches' spirit, she's convinced to use her magic to bring the spirits back to the world of the living in the form of zombies. When Olive and their pals convince her that Patches is just taking advantage of her, she betrays Patches.

Ginger helps Coco host the "Hachiko High x Kemono Woods Communal School Day" (a day where cats and dogs attend school together in order to prove that they can get along). She is tasked with keeping the zombie dogs' bodies intact with her magic stitches, a task she struggles with greatly. When in the cafeteria her magic stitches loosen briefly after being shocked by the contents of the Claret Family Grimoire. It is in this book that Ginger learns of her relation to the Claret-Wichien Family, the likely origin of her magical capabilities. After lunch, rather than participate in gym class with Sparky as originally intended, she leaves for the gym to concentrate alone. It is here that Patches attempts to take advantage of her blood relations, as the fur of a Claret family member is necessary for his body-swapping spell.
