Patches Ito is one of the seven main characters of the series, the main antagonist of Purrfect Apawcalypse: Love at Furst Bite and Purrfect Apawcalypse: Purrgatory Furever, and the main protagonist of Purrfect Apawcalypse: Patches' Infurno. He's introduced as a charming dalmatian attending Hachiko High School when the apawcalypse occurs, but eventually reveals himself as a manipulative murderer. For the majority of the trilogy his body is swapped with his ex-boyfriend Angel Grimalkin.

Appurrance[]

Patches appears as a beige dog with black spots all over his body and white wavy hair with black streaks. His floppy ears and tail are of medium length and his eyebrows change between black and white depending on how they overlay his hair. His eyes are a gull gray.

After Angel obtains his body and grows out his hair, Patches starts wearing it as a ponytail at the end of the series. Post-canon art as well as his Cool Kid Cody counterpart imply that it stays that way to his graduation.

Purrsonality[]

Patches is introduced as a charming and polite dalmatian. He seems to care about others but his facade cracks whenever people fail to be taken in by his charm. His true personality is one that is vengeful, spiteful, lonely and violent. He takes whatever love he can get and lashes out at anyone who fails to serve him. While much of the cast views Patches as a simple sociopathic murderer, there is reasoning behind his actions. He is incredibly lonely and overcompensates for his lack of self respect by being toxically defensive.

Before the Games[]

Patches' parents passed away a few years prior. Since Patches liked reading a lot, he joined the Literature Club which Luna Puddleton, Holly Melita, and Doug Pugg were members of, and was able to become vice president. Out of school hours, Patches would visit Kemono Woods to read under the only tree with leaves. But he comes across Angel Grimalkin, a cat, who also goes to the tree to read too. Despite the conflicts between cats and dogs, the two were able to befriend each other with their interests in reading. As time passed their relationship grew strained as Patches became more "clingy" and "joked" about killing Angel if he ever left him. Eventually Angel left Patches a letter telling him to never speak to him again. In response, Patches killed Angel and dissected his eye from his body. This choice is what causes the events of this game series to happen.

Purrfect Apawcalypse/Purrfect Apawcalypse: Love at Furst Bite[]

After Coco unleashes the apocalypse, Patches hides away in the library. If Olive meets him there for the first time, he will convince them to go to the basement together, resulting in Olives and additionally Coco's death, if the player chooses to talk to Patches before entering the basement. If Olive comes to the library with someone else, he will say that he wants to stay in the library, but will follow the group after they leave. If Olive chooses to trust Patches, he will kill them. If Olive and their friends try to outrun him and fail, it will end with everyone getting killed. When the group loses him, Olive will end up making a pact with Angel and Coco to find Patches. The result of this is that Angel takes over Patches body by Possession.

Purrfect Apawcalypse: Purrgatory Furever[]

Chapter 1: Since Patches's body has been taken by Angel, his soul is free to roam the Inferno. There he meets Ginger, whom he seduces and convinces to help him taking control over Angel's body. Apart from that, Ginger also makes preparations to take over Sparky's body, leaving him restless and anxious.

Chapter 2: Patches steals Coco's wand, injects Sparky with a tranquilizer, leading him to get overtaken by Ginger. They get locked in the bedroom, however it doesn't take long until Ginger breaks down the door and attacks Brownie. Depending on the chosen weapon, Olive and their friends get killed by Patches, Ginger and/or the zombies in a different order. If Olive manages to survive, Patches will lose the wand. He then hides in the woods.

Chapter 3: If Sparky leaves alone to find Ginger, Patches will kill him, alongside Coco and Olive. Alternatively, Olive and Sparky find Ginger together and Patches ends up stealing Coco's wand from Sparky.

Chapter 4: While Olive and Sparky are with Ginger, Patches takes their friends captive with the help of Coco's wand. Once they arrive, he attempts to convince Ginger to once again help him take revenge, but she banishes his soul to the purgatory, alongside Olive by accident. He loses the wand.

Chapter 5: Ginger closes off the portal, but can only prevent them from reaching their destination, so both Olive and Patches are stuck in the void of Purrgatory. If they promise to save Patches, he will leave the portal together, resulting in him taking over Angels old body again, but he will not have the means to attack anyone. The alternative is that Patches is stuck in the void while Olive gets out.

Purrfect Apawcalypse: Patches' Infurno[]

By PA3, in the canon route, Patches is noticeably less inclined to murder people. In fact, he even goes so far as to choose to spare the students of both Hachiko High School and Kemono Woods Private School when he had the chance to massacre them with Bapawmet. Whenever this means that he's less of a jerk by the current end of the series is open to interpretation.
